Manipura - Solar Plexus Chakra 


Yellow is the color associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra.  Yellow plays an important role in keeping this Chakra balanced. Wearing yellow, eating yellow foods, burning yellow candles, wearing gold, buying or growing yellow flowers – any association with yellow you can make will help you keep the Manipura spinning as it should. When this Chakra is not in balance, you may experience low self-esteem, self-doubt, anxiety over the opinions of others, weight gain, or an over-inflated ego. In order to maintain a healthy Solar Plexus, you can:


  • Have your chakras balanced by a certified practitioner. I offer chakra balancing in-person and through distance reiki sessions. You can also search for a holistic healer in your area if you are not local the St. Louis/Metro-East area. 

  • If you choose to meditate in order to restore the Solar Plexus Chakra, you can repeat the word “Ram” several times. By chanting Ram, you are igniting the seed sound of the Solar Plexus Chakra, which will assist you in balancing this power source.

  • Eating yellow foods is suggested when you are focusing on this Chakra. Bananas, pineapple, squash, corn, and yellow peppers, and poultry are all great foods for the Manipura. In addition you can use spices like ginger, cinnamon, and/or turmeric.

  • You can order tea specially made to keep the Solar Plexus chakra balanced.

  • The note “E” balances the Solar Plexus Chakra as well. You can combine chanting Ram with this method as you can chant Ram in this note.

  • There are several gemstones associated with this Chakra: Amber, topaz, tiger’s eye, citrine, yellow tourmaline, and lemon quartz.


When your Solar Plexus Chakra is in harmony with your other chakras, you will feel self-love, self-respect and respect for others, emotional fulfillment, and confidence.
